| You
have checked the apartment availability with us and now it's time
to book the flights. Here's the run down of the do's and don'ts
and our recommendations.
There
are 3 major airlines that fly to Malaga on a regular basis offering
4/5 flights a day from most airports in the UK. They are Easyjet,
British Airways - GO & Monarch.
As
with all airlines if you want to fly at peak times, eg, Saturday
afternoon 2.00pm you will pay the full price of approx £180.00
each way. However should you travel outside these times eg, Friday
12.00am or Monday 06.00am there are considerable flight savings
to be made.
All
of the airlines below offer booking on line with your credit card.
The best by far for value is Easyjet.
Easyjet:
Easyjet
fly to Malaga some 8 times a day 7 days a week. There are no frills,
no in flight catering service, tickets, pre booked seating or movies
etc. Although they offer a purchase from the air hostess service,
coffee, cakes, sandwiches etc.
The
average price for off peak flights varies between £17.50 and
£50.00 one way depending on the time you want to go. We have
flown with Easyjet many times and looking through the receipts have
paid no more than £100.00 return!.

Monarch
Airlines:
Monarch
fly to Malaga 4 times a day with their Monarch Crown Service. More
the traditional airline, offering an inflight movie, meal service
and newspapers in the morning. Again the same rule as Easyjet applies,
off peak time cheaper flights. Most of the time the off peak flight
fare is £99.00 each way although at given months throughout
the year Monarch offer a special rate of £99.00 return. There
is no set month for this offer, Monarch seems to run this offer
as and when it suits them. Check their web site before booking.
Monarch
also offer a frequent flyer service for those of you who want to
go to Spain regularly. The main rule to qualify is you have to use
their service 4 times (both ways) and you will be accepted into
the frequent flyers club. There are many benefits of the frequent
flyers club, so check out the Monarch web site for the rules and
regs on the frequent flyer program.
British
Airways - GO:
This
service is mainly offered from Stanstead Airport in Essex, although
others from around the country are available. Same rule as above
for off peak flight times, cheaper fares. We personally have not
flown GO as the prices have never compared to Easyjet or Monarch.
I have heard of people getting good deals from GO, but everytime
we check out the prices I have never seen one cheaper than £125.00
each way and thats off peak! Again check out their web site for
pricing.
